Frankie's Day In Croke Park
My name is Frankie Herr and I am 11 years old. I am a member of Effin GAA and go to school in Charleville CBS. It all started back on June 12th when myself and my brother Seanie went to the Effin Cúl Camp in Stakers pitch. We had a full week of hurling and football training. It was fun. We were trained by some of the Limerick senior players.
My mam entered me in a competition to win a Kelloggs Cúl Dream Day Out in Croke Park. My mam got a phone call saying I was picked to go to Croke Park. I was so excited.
On the 10th of October my mam and I went on a train at 9 o'clock to Dublin. We got to Croke Park and signed in. We went on a tour of Croke Park and the museum. I saw all of Mick Mackys medals and saw a video. They took us to the top of Croke Park to look down.
We went into the dressing rooms and came out of the tunnel where all the big teams come out. It was great. We got a skills session with some players from Kilkenny and Dublin. It lasted about an hour and we played a small match. I got my picture traken with both the Liam McCarthy and Sam Magurie Cups and a team photo as well.
It was a great day and I will never forget it.
